Office furniture international product standards' report - 3rd edition
The world of national, regional and international standards is a potential minefield for any company considering exporting. In the European Union alone, there are now twenty-seven different standards bodies, all of which are required to issue all European Standards on a national level, including those relating to office and other furniture, covering anything from testing castors to the height adjustability of workstations.
In order to guide office furniture manufacturers through the confusion, JSA Consultancy Services has published an updated revised and expanded report that examines and sets out simply and clearly the current state* of all the most relevant and important national, regional and international standards throughout the world.
Office furniture producers and designers need to know about these standards. Why develop products which can be only be sold in local markets when they could be made acceptable to a much wider market for the sake of very little additional cost?
The bulk of the report contains the reference and title of each of the office furniture-related standards applicable in each country*. It also outlines the way in which a Europe Union-wide set of standards is being harmonised and implemented, and what impact this likely to have on the future of standards within the EU.
The report contains the following vital information:
- International Standards;
- European standards: where they apply and are implemented*;
- National standards in the ten most relevant countries;
- United States BIFMA standards and Canadian CGSB and other standards;
- Contact details and website addresses for all of the world's standards bodies from whom the standards can be purchased.
