The 29th China International Furniture Fair (Guangzhou), also known as CIFF and "Asia's Furniture Soucing Center", reported the success of its most recent fair that ended on 30 March 2012. CIFF's post-show release claimed the show was a spectacular event that received high compliments. It had a total exhibition scale of over 680,000SQM for the two phases, 26% growth over the same period of last year. There were more than 3,375 exhibitors from over 29 countries and regions including China, USA, Germany, Italy, France, Singapore, Thailand, Australia, Japan, Malaysia and Turkey to participate in the event. It attracted 178,036 professional buyers from all over the world, including 136,966 domestic buyers and 41,070 overseas buyers as well as the buyers’ delegations from Turkey, Japan, South Africa and the large furniture sourcing distributors in mainland China. It formed the most valuable trading platform in the furniture and furnishing industry for both domestic and overseas industrial players.

Phase II increased its scale to 200,000SQM from 130,000SQM last year, and became the world’s largest office furniture fair. 790 renowned brands from all over the world including China, USA, Korea, Malaysia, Hong Kong and Taiwan gathered together to provide the buyers with the “one-stop” exhibition experience. CIFM/interzum guangzhou held concurrently was recognized as the largest and most comprehensive woodworking machinery and furniture raw materials fair in Asia with the powerful influence on the industry at a high international level.

With a huge increase in scale for 8 consecutive years, it reached a scale of 130,000SQM in 2012, 18% growth comparing with that of last year. It has attracted 1,046 enterprises including the pavilions of German, US, Canada, Italian, AHEC, Spanish, Turkish and Chilean to participate in the exhibition. There were 242 overseas exhibitors, accounting for 23% of the total. Compared with the previous sessions, CIFM/interzum guangzhou 2012 featured more extensive regions and more diversified products and presented the world’s leading new technologies, new processes and new materials in a more comprehensive way.

CIFF enjoyed the widespread industry praise for its trend presentation, brand cultivation and image displays. The 4th CIFF Design Gallery, held concurrently with the 29th CIFF’s Phase I, combined “design, production and market” and provided the young talented students, designers and design organizations with a platform for display and communication based on CIFF.

During the Phase II, the Office Environment Theme Pavilion, presented with the theme of “Office Culture and Living,” demonstrated present and future trends by integrating multiple formats and brands. It provided the industry professionals with a rare chance for study and networking. The Forum of Analysis and Prospects for the Office Furniture Industry was held for the first time, bringing together the industry experts and media from China, India, Brazil and Europe to make an in-depth analysis on the present status and future direction of the world furniture industry. The “Star-Class Hotel & Club Interior Design Works Exhibition” enabled many excellent hotel interior designers to participate in the CIFF-Office Show and communicate deeply with the hotel furniture exhibitors.

CIFF claims to have an “overwhelming” influence in the industry. It is estimated that the 2012 autumn show will cover a total exhibition area of 900,000 SQM and attract more than 200,000 buyers and 4,500 big brand exhibitors.

CIFF will have broader development prospects in the near future. Modern exhibition and convention centers in being built in Beijing, Shanghai and Tianjin thanks to a large investment by China Foreign Trade Centre (Group) are estimated to be completed soon, providing to further expansion opportunities to increase the worldwide influence of CIFF.

CIFF is held twice a year. The autumn show will open on September 7-10, 2012 to further reflect the exhibition's positioning of “Equal Emphasis on both Domestic and International Market”.
